Red Truck Tour
Donate DonateOn Monday they’re cast as characters. By Saturday, they’ve GAINED CHARACTER. The kind that really counts!
A week-long residency STARRING 50-60 of your local school age children in a full-scale musical.
A tour team arrives in your town in their Red Truck loaded with a set, lights, costumes, and props, everything it takes to put on a play…except the cast. The team holds an open audition and casts 50-60 local students to perform in the production. The show is rehearsed throughout the week and two public performances are presented at the end of the week!

“The best, best, best thing for me (I am a special education teacher) is the way they included students with disabilities. You can’t imagine what it meant to the parents of an older boy with autism and a 6-year-old who is non-verbal to see them have success on the stage with their peers.

Missoula Children’s Theatre does such a great job in preparing my child not only for future theater experiences, but for all facets of life! The confidence and maturity they have instilled in my two daughters both on and off stage is noteworthy. Bravo MCT!

The whole idea of working as a team to put together the production in a very short time builds character in the participants. They learn responsibility, how to work agreeably with individuals of a variety of ages, and gain a sense of self-worth. The whole community gets the opportunity of viewing quality theater, while enjoying the talents of local children as well as professionals.

The students at our school are Native-American children who live in a very rural setting. Most of them live in poverty and never have the opportunity to see live stage performances. Their participation in MCT is an amazing experience for them. It increases their self-esteem and confidence. It brings an incredible amount of pride to the community as the parents and friends of these children watch them shine on stage.

Our students included 2 totally blind, several low vision, and hard of hearing. Our team worked with them seamlessly as with all of the students. We are especially impressed with how the team commanded respect from the students and kept to a strict schedule. We couldn’t be more pleased with them.

Everyone we talked to loved the show and teachers commented about the positive impact it had on the students. This was such a wonderful event for our school. It was amazing to watch the process. The students worked hard all week. By the time they finally go to change into their costumes on Saturday morning, they had truly changed. They were so proud as they walked to the gym to do the dress rehearsal. They did a fantastic job and they felt great about it. Thank you for enriching the lives of our children!

Once again, thanks for your support – from staff in Missoula and those who were here. It’s the easiest program for my department and I need that. Especially while running a day camp for 140 kids in summer – this is a breeze and loved by all! See you next year!

As usual the Tour Actor/Directors were superb and everyone is amazed that such a performance could be done in such a short period of time. Keep up the good work! Everyone in our town and the surrounding communities believes this is what the students have needed for some time. We tell everyone that they should have you in their community.
