TOUR TRAINING By the Numbers and By the Way

June 1, 2023

The class of 2023 got off to an amazing start.  Upon arrival at the Missoula International Airport last Thursday, the 46 new Tour Actor/Directors (TADs) took a fun-filled ride on Missoula’s only escalator (humble brag) down to baggage claim and then off to their hotel for an evening of rest before starting 8 days of intensive training on Friday morning.

The MCT Veterans have folded in to make a total of 34 domestic teams
(68 TADs) who will travel to 42 Air Force Bases and 20 Navy installations in the United States, and 1 Canadian province—as of press time.  Over the next 12 weeks, we’re talking 304 MCT residency weeks…WHEW!

Soon to follow will be 5 Fly teams (10 TADs) who will bring MCT to 8 overseas countries, serving Navy installations, the US Embassy in Bahrain and Mifune, Kumamoto, Japan with a non-English-speaking cast.  There has been spirited debate among a number of MCT Alums about which class is truly the largest one, so we’ll just have to agree to disagree and invoke parental wisdom by saying “we love ALL our new classes of TADs equally, regardless of size.”

Speaking of numbers, this class of 2023 includes multiple multiples!  Close to 12 TADs have a fraternal or identical twin and one is even a TRIPLET!

By the Way
this crew is made quite the impression on our home staff who have been with the TADs this past week:

“Their joy and enthusiasm light up the building.”

“Each of these tour actors is a bright light in our building this week. Their excitement and passion for the work they’re about to do is palpable…I can’t wait for them to shine on the road!!”

“These TADs are going to SLAY.”
